How spicy is this? Have you ever made it without the maple syrup? Also, what do you serve this with?

The maple syrup just "tones" it down a bit(if you don't want a hot flavor; some do), I suppose you could just leave it out. You can serve this with anything you normally like regular cranberry sauce with. Way back when DH could eat it we served it with pork roast; it would be good with baked chicken, turkey; really anything you'd like.

I like the hotness of the jalapenos. However, the maple syrup is a flavor that stays with me and I just aren't a big fan of it. However, DH LOVES maple syrup and likes a little waffle with it for breakfast. lol But, he doesn't like spicy. Does this sound like Jack Sprat and his wife? lol
