Hello all, since Thanksgiving is right around the corner and this is my first time not being able to go home to my mom's for her giblet gravy, I was wondering if anyone could PLEASE share w/ me a TNT giblet gravy recipe for Thanksgiving. I can cook everything else, this is my one downfall.

Here is a very easy one!
Easy Giblet Gravy
3 cups chicken or,turkey broth
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped, giblets or chopped chicken,or turkey pieces
3 hardcooked eggs, chopped
Pepper to taste
Mix broth and flour until smooth in a medium saucepan. Stir in remaining
ingredients. Cook, stirring constantly, till hot and thickened.
Makes about 5 cups.

I don't know where your mom is located, but I make giblet gravy all the time. I LOVE it. I put all the giblets (neck, heart, liver, etc) in a medium sized pan. I our water over these and boil them until they are done. Then set it aside while the turkey cooks. It will have time to cool then. Remove the neck as it is mostly bone. Take all the other giblets and dice. Put back in the giblet water. Add salt, pepper, and garlic to taste. I take whatever drippings are leftover from the turkey and pour then into the giblet water. Bring to a boil. Make a little thickening agent with equal parts of flour and water and wisk together. Slowly pour into your gravy intil it is thickened. I usually use about 3 tablespoons of flour, but all will depend on how much giblet water/turkey juices you have. One it is thick, turn off the heat. Gently fold in 2-3 hard boiled, sliced eggs. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you ladies, both of these recipes look very easy and I'm sure I can make them. also I just saw on Semi-Homemade something new called Gravy Flour. this might just help me not to have lumpy gravy

Gravy Flour is very fine flour, you can use a whisk when you add the flour to the broth and that helps tremendously with preventing lumps! I always used a whisk when making gravy; sure made it easier! Also you can whirl the gravy in a blender if you do end up with lumps; just be careful whirling hot gravy! Good Luck!

I use a whisk when I make any type of gravy. It works very well.

I am so glad it worked well for you. Can you believe that my kids hate giblet gravy? It is the sliced boiled eggs that they hate. They would like it if it weren't for that.

oh no. my kids love it. we are from the south so rice is a big favorite in my household and they put it on the rice. they don't mind the eggs at all. just gives it texture. For us it wouldn't be giblet gravy w/o the eggs.

We are from the South too. However, I think my kids, especially my DD, got her taste buds from her daddy since he doesn't like a lot of the Southern cooking like pinto beans, potato salad, and the like. I really tried to raise them right! lol
