I live close to Paris, Texas. I do have two sister-in -laws with their family that live in Lubbock Texas. I don't guess I ever heard of Iraan.

The Paris, TX area is way over on the other side of Texas. Iraan is in West Texas on the south/west end. I don't know how big your town is, but the biggest Iraan got was 1300 people. I rememeber when I was little all the adults making a big deal because we made the map.

Paris is still a small town but is growing alot. I was raised in Arthur city a small country community thats close to Ok. border, we were called river rats because we live right at the river so thats what the city kids called us. It is also where my parents was raised. Dallas is the closest large city to us.

I have never heard of Arthur City, but I have heard of Paris and Dallas. I have family in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and we always go to the races in Justin (Denton/Fort Worth). In some ways I hated the small town, but when I move to a large town, I miss the small town stuff.

Arthur City is right on the Red river ,there's a bridge to go into Ok. Also its not really a city just a small community. Paris is where you have to go shopping ,doctors and hospital. It does have some small churchs.

Oh my, you sure brought back memories. When I lived in Iraan, we had to go to either Midland or Odessa to do our shopping. Thse towns are about 1 1/2 hours away from our little town. How many people were in your graduating class?

I graduated from a small country school, there was 13 in my class and almost all of us started school togather. The school was call Chicota it is no longer around in fact my class was the last one to graduate from there. Also thats where my mother and her silbings went and graduated from.

How funny! There were 13 in my graduating class as well! It also was the same school that my parents graduated from as well. My grandparents moved there when there was no town. They all lived in tents while they built the town. Unlike you, my school is still around.

We live around 8 miles outside Paris. At my old school there was only about 100 kids k-12 in the whole school. My grandmother and her kids were one of five famlies that started the Arthur City church, which my mom and sister are still members,it is is a very small church.

OUr chuch had 75 people on a good day! lol I hated that the people in small towns were so nosey in that they even knew when you went to the bathroom. Then I moved to a large town and discovered that I miss the fact the people would stop and help you if you needed it. I guess small towns have good and bad points.

when I was growing up 40 poeple was a big group for our church, I think if they 20 now days that good. Also they have only a few kids, almost everyone raised in that church goes to bigger churchs for the things that they offer the kids.

You've definately got me beat on the chuch size. LOL I remember a psychologist in a nearby town telling me that he would ask his clients from my town what they did for fun. He said they said, "We sit on our porch, drink beer, and watch the bugs get zapped at the bug zapper! LOL

Yes, I miss the good ol' days when we could leave our doors open and our cars unlocked. Even the neighbors would call if our children (or I would them for theirs) got into trouble.

Here we call everyone kin even if we was'nt really kin. my freinds mothers would get onto you if you did something wrong then tell your mother who would then get on you again for the same thing. Here where we live you can leave your doors open if your at home during the daytime, but I prefer to lock mine as I only have three neighbors close and most all them work.
