Ingredients===2 eggs==choice of add ins..ham,bacon,onions,etc. Set a large pot of water to boil. Mean while, crack the eggs into the bag, and shake to combine them. Put in your ingredients and gently shake to combine. ==Before placing the bage in boiling water, make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Place the bags into large rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. ===Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily.=======MY dd said it comes out great and will also do this when CAMPING.====

This does work out great for camping! When we did boy scouts years ago several of the patrols enjoyed doing this because it meant less dishes for them to wash! LOL

I LOVE this idea! With my busy school schedule, I could mix my omelet the night before and then just put in boiling water the next morning while I am getting ready for school.

This kind of reminds me of my bowl muffin idea I posted awhile back. They go well together, actually.
I've done these omelletes and the bow muffins, both. Both are very good!
Thanks for posing it, Happy! I had forgotten about these

I will have to remember this for the summer when my fiancee and I take our Cub Scouts camping. We are always looking for cheap and easy ideas for meals and the easy cleanup is a definite bonus.:)

Paula Deen made these today on her show! She cooked hers for 5-8 minutes. She called hers omelets for a crowd (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_36990,00.html), but basically, they were omeletes made in zip lock bags. She had all the fixins for the omelets, and then just added whatever each person wanted in each omelet. I am definately making these while camping. I can cook up the bacan and sausage ahead of time and then allow the GKs to help me.

Just had to respond again to this post, I am no longer engaged...We were married March 31st with all of our Cubbies in attendance! We are having a Cubby campout at the end of the month and we are still planning on making these eggs with them. We are also planning on doing the hobo hamburgers with them. We just need ideas for a fun easy lunch for them...Any suggestions?

Congratulations!
You can either start a new thread here (http://www.momsmenu.com/forums/search.php?searchid=16966)or you can start one in the outdoor cooking forum (http://www.momsmenu.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=67) so that others will see it. That way we can put it in the newsletter.
We'll be camping at the end of the month, but not with any Cubbies. lol

Here are a few suggestions that we used to use with our Boy Scouts
Campfire Sandwich
Place on a bun chipped beef, slice of cheese and place in foil. Place on coals. You can vary the meat to something different; just remove when warm.
Bac-O-Cheese Dogs
Cut 8 dogs lengthwise but not completely through. Cut 6 small slices of cheese. Fill cut on dog with small slices of cheese. Close dog around chese. Wrap bacon strip around dog and place toothpicks in each end. Cook on a stick for 10 - 15 minutes.
Frank-A-Bobs
Cut in 4 or 5 pieces, 2 wieners for each person. Open and drain 1 can sliced or chunk pineapple and thread wiener onto a stick, then add pineapple. Alternate this process till entire wiener is on stick. Cook over hot coals 5 - 10minutes. You can also use tomatoes, onions, green peppers, canned potatoes, and cherry tomatoes.
