I have a ton of mixture leftover from making stuffed mushrooms. Any ideas on what I can do with it, besides put it in omelettes?

The mixture is basically cream cheese, crumbled sausage, cheddar cheese, minced mushroom stems and spics.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Also, does anyone know if I can freeze that?

I wish I knew. Maybe somebody will have some other ideas. Could you make a stew out of them. It would be a creamed stew though.

Here are a couple ideas that might work:


filling for tortellini
stuffed penne or really any pasta that you like

I'm not sure the cream cheese part of it would freeze well.
Let us know what you end up doing with it; just curious!

I've decided I am going to pound some chicken breasts thin, put some of this filling mixture on the center, roll the chicken breasts up and secure with toothpicks. Place them in a baking dish and cover with a can of cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup, and bake.

Some I will spread on crackers and take to that party at work tonight.

And I am told on my freezer list that it will freeze well. So I am going to try that and hopefully they are right. I can only eat so much of it at a time!

Could you share the recipe for this, Yummys_Girl? I've been looking for a stuffed mushroom recipe with cream cheese for a long time now. In fact, I need to look through the threads now and see if one was posted somewhere after I asked about it. :)

You could stuff it into the middle of a glob of hamburger, then bake it in muffin cups---for mini meatloaf.

Your chicken idea sounds really good.
