Today in my grocery store flyer I noticed that they have the Ultimate Chopper "as seen on TV" for $6.99.

Since I rarely use my food processor because it seems to be one second from "perfect" to "puree" not to mention how bulky it is, I'm considering trying one of these gadgets.

Has anyone tried one? Is it worth $7? Or is it a piece of trash?

I bought a cheap chopper a long time ago, but I am nut sure if it is the same one that you have seen. It was terrible. I bought the one that I currently have from the Pampered Chef and I LOVE it. But, it was pricey!

Several years ago we were at the Georgia National Fair. My dh was with us and came to get me to see this demonstration. I laughed at him - thought he was being suckered by this demo. He bought it and had the last laugh. I ended up loving it. One of the girls put a piece in the dishwasher that shouldn't have gone and it warped so I paid $20 (the original price as well) for another. If something happens to this one, I will go get another. It's really been nice to have it for chopping all sorts of stuff. Especially onion!:D

I did buy it. It's not an automatic machine but rather a thing where you press on the "plunger" top and it chops. The blade rotates as you keep pressing. It did a pretty good job. It will come in handy especially for onions, which I hate to have to do!

This is good to know Barb. It sounds like the expensive job I have from Pampered Chef, which is getting old. I use it a lot. I will have to be on the look out for the one you are talking about.

I also have the PC chopper and love it. I have never tried the cheaper version. I did have to replace my chopper once when the blades got bent but it was under warranty so it did not cost me anything except postage.

Motherof2, I think we must live in the same household! My blands went out early too. So, we must both use our choppers a lot!

We always had one of these types of choppers when I was growing up.

I don't own one now but I did buy a mini food processor at a yard sale 2 yrs. ago for $1.00 and I love it!!

I HATE to drag out my big food processor unless I have to. This little does the trick great!
