4 cups fresh, sliced strawberries
1 cup sugar
12 ounces evaporated milk
3.75-ounce pkg vanilla instant pudding
14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
4 cups half & half
1 tsp strawberry extract
Combine strawberries and sugar and let stand one hour. Process strawberry mixture in a food processor until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides.
Stir together evaporated milk and pudding mix in a large bowl; stir in strawberry puree, condensed milk, half & half and extract.
Pour mixture into freezer container of a 4 quart ice crream maker; freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. Spoon into airtight container and freeze until firm.
Peaches or bananas can be substituted for the strawberries. When making banana, use 1 teaspoon of banana extract instead of strawberry.
