In an average bottle of wine there are 4 glasses. If you don't serve any other alcohol you should calculate 2.5 glasses of wine per guest or two to three shots per specialty drinks or 2 - 3 beers per guest.
You must then consider how many guests will consume wine versus how many will consume beer or liquor specialty drinks as well as how many will not drink any alcohol.
Also, depending on age of attendees keep in mind children and seniors drink more pop or juice.
Ratio consumption of alcohol differs from group to group, based on demographics including age, ***, and socio-economic status. Basically, have a good idea as to what proportion of guests will prefer either beer, wine, liquor, or specialty drinks...then calculate based on the above formula.
