Remember those orange candy slices? They make a really good adition to a cake!:eek:
1/3 cup sliced almonds
1 pkg. (18 1/4oz) devil's food cake mix
1 pkg. (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
3 eggs
1 1/4 cups milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp orange extract
1 cup chopped orange candy slices
Orange Glaze
3/4 cup confectioners sugar
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp orange juice
Sprinkle almonds into a greased 10" bundt pan and sit aside. In a large bowl combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, milk, oil and orange extract and beat on low just till moistened. Beat on medium about 2 minutes. Fold in orange slices and pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees 45 - 50 minutes or till toothpick tests clean. Cool 10 mionutes in pan and then remove to wire rack to cool completely. In a small pan place glaze ingredients and bring to a boil. Boil 1 minute stirring frequently and remove from heat, let cool about 5 minutes and tehn drizzle over top of cake. 12 servings
