Cabbage Sprout- Broccoli seems to be one of those foods that people either love or hate. While the dichotomy isn’t as stark as caviar or anchovies, there nevertheless appears to be a polarization of broccoli between its advocates and its detractors. Newman's antithesis would be Drusius, a son of the Roman emperor Tiberius. It is alleged that Drusius was so obsessed with broccoli that he consumed it until his urine turned green.

Chef Charged with Wine Snobbery!- I have been accused of being a "wine snob" on more than one occasion. In fact, I was belied as such twice in the last week. The first incident of incrimination occurred in a wine shop with my friend Mark. I was browsing through the Bordeaux when the clerk recommended a California Cabernet. I responded that I preferred Bordeaux, (which is French). Immediately Mark blurted out: "Wine snob."

Chuck Wagon- Nothing beats chuck for good ole fashioned comfort-classics like beef stew and pot roast. Pot roast is not roasted, it's braised, i.e., cooked partially submerged in liquid, at low heat for an extended period of time. If you were to cut it into bite sized chunks and cook it completely submerged in liquid, then you'd be stewing.

It varies in color from grey to brown, has pronounced fins, a lighter underbelly, and an unmistakable barbel on its lower jaw. It is sold whole and filleted. Cooking Outside the Box- Being a good chef is as much an art as a science. Therefore chefs must rely on both sides of their brain. But in terms of the creative side, chefs can take one of two paths.
