BOOK REVIEW

Peter Gordon's World Kitchen
by Peter Gordon
Peter Gordon's World Kitchen
Peter Gordon is a New Zealand-bred, London-based chef who began his cooking career in Australia and consults for restaurants in New York and Istanbul. With an uncanny ability to successfully fuse ingredients from the far corners of the world, he has won international acclaim for his decidedly independent approach to cooking. Peter Gordon's World Kitchen features more than 200 of his diverse and eclectic dishes that are easy enough to prepare at home.

As Peter's shopping list of potential ingredients has increased with his wide-ranging travels so has the potential for mixing these ingredients in harmony. His global approach to cooking might result in a dish like New Zealand lamb marinated in a mix of Thai chile and Japanese mirin, then served on grilled Spamish artichokes and Jersey Royal potatoes. Rather than focusing on any particular region, Peter simply cooks whatever excites him from all over the world.

With innovative and sometimes unexpected combination of flavors and textures, Peter Gordon's World Kitchen is packed with innovative recipes - Chorizo, kumara, and kumquat chutney burger; Pumpkin, coconut, and lemon grass soup with cod; Grilled prawns with mango and fig salsa; Zucchini, oregano, and almond linguine; Nectarines stuffed with pistachios and honey - that reflect his unique epicurean worldview.
