1 cup of butter Beat butter and shortening until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until yellow disappears. Combine flour and next three ingredients. Add to batter mixture alternating with cream, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix until blended after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Pour into greased Bundt or plain 10 inch tube pan.
