1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger 1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 2/3 cup safflower oil 1/4 cup molasses 1 egg or 1/4 cup egg substitute 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar granulated sugar Sift together flour, salt and spices. Set aside. Using lowest speed of electric mixer, blend oil, molasses and egg. Add brown sugar and blend. Gradually add flour and dry ingredients. Mix well. Chill dough 2 hours. Form into 1 inch balls. Roll each ball in granulated sugar. Place on teflon baking sheets. Sprinkle each cookie with 2 to 3 |
