German Prune Cake and Buttermilk Glaze

1 cup cooking oil
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 beaten eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup diced prunes & juice

Combine ingredients and bake 30 to 40 mins in a 350 degree oven.


Buttermilk Glaze:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 stick butter
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cook 5 to 7 minutes. Do not stir or beat. Mixture will become
brown at the edges and make veins through the middle when done.
