Pork-Apple Stew

1 pork chop, preferably boneless
1 onion, sliced thin and separated into rings
1 cooking apple, peeled, cored and sliced
1 tsp. brown sugar, if desired

Trim fat from cop. In a small casserole layer half the onion and
apple (and sprinkle with sugar if used). Season chop with salt and
pepper. Layer with remaining onion and apple and rest of sugar. Cover and bake in a 350 degree oven until meat is tender (1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours).
