1/4 cup onion, minced fine 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup corn syrup 1 tsp salt 1 tsp black pepper 1/4 to 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional) 1/2 tsp. mustard powder 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1Tblsp liquid smoke 1 tsp celery seed 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice 2 Tblsps vinegar Combine all the ingredients, stirring occasionally, simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, the longer it simmers the better it gets. Brush on meat the last 5 or 10 minutes of cooking. |
