l c sugar (divided) 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 c butter 2 eggs 1 tbs vanilla 4 tbs milk 8 c thinly sliced baking apples, peeled 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon Topping 1 tbs milk 3/4 tbs sugar 1/4 tsp cinnamon In a bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter till crumbly. In a small bowl, beat eggs and vanilla, add to flour mixture. Add in milk. Stir until dough forms a ball. Press half of the dough in the bottom of a well greased 9x13 pan.Chill the remaining dough. Toss apples with the cinnamon and the remaining sugar.Then place the apples over the dough in the pan. On a lightly floured surface, roll the chilled dough to fit the pan. Place over the apples. Brush with the milk. Combine the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the top.Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to50 minutes. |
