Bake cake mix as directed on the box. Cool and cut cake in two,lengthwise(use a long piece of thread). You may also cut the cake in two widthwise and fold one half on top of the other half.
Next, mix the flour and milk together. Place on the stove and cook the two stirring constantly until the mixture is thick. COOL COMPLETELY!
Now, mix the sugar and salt.
Beat the crisco, oleo, and vanilla. Add the sugar mixture to this and beat well. Then, add the flour mixture to the crisco/sugar mixture and beat well.
Spread the final combination between the layers of cake and refrigerate. Once this is cooled, you can cut the cake into twinkie size pieces.
