2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans

Mix ingredients in the order given. Drop from teaspoon onto a buttered
baking dish. Press a pecan half into the center of each cookie. Bake in a
350 degree F. oven for about 15 minutes.

Makes 5-1/2 dozen approximately
