Sour Cream Scalloped Potatoes

4 cups sliced potatoes
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons water
2 eggs, well beaten
1 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Cook potatoes in salted water until done. Sauté onion in butter. Combine with sour cream, water, eggs, salt, and pepper. Place potatoes in buttered casserole. Pour sour cream sauce over them. Top with shredded cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. 6 servings.
