2 to 2 ½ pounds Cortland apples, peeled cored and sliced (or any other firm baking/cooking apple)
¾ cup melted butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Layer sliced apples in the pie plate evenly, sprinkle with 1 Tbsp. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Mix the crust ingredients together well in a medium bowl. Pour over apples, spreading evenly. Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and crisp. Delicious hot or cold! ** I put a foil lined cookie sheet on the rack beneath the rack the pie will be baking on, to catch the juices that will sometimes bubble over the pie pan.** |
