1 Pkt. of lady fingers
4 oz (or to tast) cream sherry
a round piece of good quality sponge cake.
Soak it in the sherry.
then add 1 strawbery Jelly (or Jello)made as instructions.
Arange the lady fingers around the sponge cake around in a bowl (Glass if possible, fruit may be added sparingly) and 3/4 cover the lady fingers.

Make up one pint of birds custard as per instructions on the tin, when the jelly jelo is set add the custard to within 1 inch of the top of the glass bowl.
leave to cool and set.
then pipe whiped cream to decorate the midle and around the edge, add walnuts or sliverd almonds and cut glassid cherries in a decorative patern on the whiped cream, refrigerate.
To sirve place the bowl in the middle of the table as a centre peice
and let them sirve them selves.
