4 oz (or to tast) cream sherry a round piece of good quality sponge cake. Soak it in the sherry. then add 1 strawbery Jelly (or Jello)made as instructions. Arange the lady fingers around the sponge cake around in a bowl (Glass if possible, fruit may be added sparingly) and 3/4 cover the lady fingers. Make up one pint of birds custard as per instructions on the tin, when the jelly jelo is set add the custard to within 1 inch of the top of the glass bowl. |
