3-8 oz cans tomato sauce 1/4 cup onion, minced fine 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup corn syrup 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. black pepper 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional) 1/2 tsp. mustard powder 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1 Tbls. liquid smoke 1 tsp. celery seed 1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice 2 Tbls. vinegar | | | Combine all the ingredients, stirring occasionally, simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, the longer it simmers the better it gets. Brush on meat the last 5 or 10 minutes of cooking. |
