| Put sugar and syrup into a large glass bowl and microwave on full power until bubbly. Cook 30 seconds more. Stir. Add peanut butter and vanilla. Stir again. Add cereal and peanuts, combining well. Pour into a buttered 9x13 pan. When it is almost cooled cut into 3-inch squares. Makes about 18 bars. Note: I like this recipe because you can make so many changes to create different bars. You can use almonds and almond flavoring, or walnuts and maple flavoring. You can also substitute some of the new chocolate peanut butters for a different twist. Use your imagination!
