Fried Bananas

Click here for a printable version of this recipe

You need :

Spring roll wrappers (the big square ones)
Baking Bananas (also called sugar bananas)
Brown Sugar or Raw Sugar
Cup of water

Method:

Cut each banana in half, one half banana makes one fried wrapped serving. Lay our a Sheet of Spring Roll wrapper diagonally (so it looks like a diamond) Place one half banana in one corner and put a tablespoon of raw sugar on top of the banana. Roll and wrap the banana in the spring roll wrapper so it's wrapped like a giant spring roll. Dip your finger in the water and wet the opened edge of the spring roll wrapper then stick it down (the water helps to stick the wrapper down so it won't come apart when frying) Repeat this for your desired number of bananas

To fry:

Fill a shallow fry pan with enough oil to cover half of the wrapped banana (flat side down) Heat until a piece of spring roll wrapper when placed in the oil, sizzles and cooks quickly to brown Place the bananas in flat side down and fry just like you would spring rolls, when browned on one side flip and fry the other side.

Serve on their own as a snack or with ice cream or cream for a dessert. When you fry them the sugar caramelizes and the banana softens so the sugar seeps into it -- Delicious!
