3 14 oz. cans stewed tomatoes, (1 quart home canned) 2 4 oz. cans mushroom stems and pieces, drained 1 onion, large, chopped 1/2 cup green bell peppers, chopped 1/4 cup Italian spices 1 tablespoon margarine 2 cloves garlic, minced (or to taste) This recipe can be made entirely in the microwave. 1. Microwave the hamburger in 5 minute cycles. chopping with a spatula each time until the burger is well done and crumbled in small pieces. Drain grease and rinse with hot water. 2. Microwave on high the chopped garlic, onion and mushrooms in the margarine until just tender. 3. Run the stewed tomatoes lightly in a food processor to just chop the tomatoes. 4. Place all ingredients in a microwave proof covered dish and cook on high for 1/2 hour. Remove and let set for one hour then reheat before serving. |
