1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 1/2 c. water
12 tsp. sugar
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
1 tbsp. minced dried onion
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. spaghetti
1 tsp. dried oregano, crushed
1 (4 oz.) pkg. Cheddar cheese, shredded
Equipment needed:

Measuring cups and spoons
Wooden spoon
Ruler
Can opener
Fork
3 qt. saucepan with lid
Lg spoon

Break up meat into a 3-quart saucepan. Put pan on burner. Have adult help turn burner to medium-high heat. Cook and stir meat with a wooden spoon, until there is no pink color. Turn off burner. With adult help, drain off the fat. Use the wooden spoon to stir water, tomato sauce, onion, salt, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, basil, garlic powder, and pepper into the pan. Put pan on burner. With adult help, turn burner to high heat. When mixture boils, break spaghetti into 2 inch pieces and add them to the sauce in pan. With adult help, turn burner to low heat. Put lid on pan and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir often. When spaghetti is done, turn off burner. To find out if spaghetti is done, remove a piece from the pan with a fork. Rinse it under cold water, then taste to see if it is tender. With adult help, remove pan from burner. Add the shredded cheese and stir until it melts. Serve immediately with a large spoon. Makes 4 to 6 servings. ~ Teresa
