Jazzed-up French Bread

1 loaf of French bread
3 tbsp. Parmesan cheese, freshly grated*
2 tbsp. butter and olive oil**
1 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Split loaf lengthwise and place on baking sheet. Sprinkle loaf with cheese. Melt butter with oil, water and garlic powder. Spoon over loaf evenly. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for about 20 minutes, being careful not to burn bread.

*Note: I would only use fresh Parmesan in this recipe. It is guaranteed better than cheese in a can.

**Note: I use as much as necessary to completely saturate the bread.

**Note: You can sprinkle with freshly minced parsley on top prior to baking--absolutely wonderful.
