Greek Triangles

1 cup packed brown sugar,
1 cup butter or margarine--softened,
1 egg separated,
1 teaspoon vanilla,
2 cups flour,
1/4 teaspoon salt,
1 teaspoon ground cardamom,
1 can (5 ounces) diced roasted almonds
Heat oven to 275 degrees. Mix brown sugar, margarine, egg yolk and vanilla. Sit in flour, salt and cardamon. Spread in ungreased jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch. Brush with unbeaten egg white. Sprinkle with walnuts; press down lightly. Bake one hour. While warm, cut into 2 1/2 inch squares, then cut each square diagonally into halves. Cool
