1 cup all purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, 3/4 cup butter, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons water, one 12 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate morsels--divided, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1 egg, 1 cup chopped nuts | | | Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In small bowl, combine flour, salt and baking soda; set aside. In small saucepan, combine butter, sugar and water; bring just to boil. Remove from heat. Add 6 ounces (1 cup) chocolate morsels and vanilla. Stir until morsels melt and mixture is smooth. Transfer to large bowl. Chill in refrigerator 10 to 15 minutes. Add egg; beat well. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Stir in remaining one cup chocolate morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoonsfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Cool. Yield: 2 1/2 dozen 3" cookies. |
